Apple announces iOS 6
Its WWDC again and Apple has announced iOS 6, the next generation of its mobile operating system. There are a lot of major changes in this iteration of iOS, main changes include:
- Maps - No more Google Maps! Apple's own Maps application with maps served by TomTom
- Do Not Disturb - Mute your notifications and calls at night so no one wakes you up
- Mail - a new Mail application with VIP lists synced with iCloud
- Siri - now supports sports and movies, more things you can ask
- Passbook - a wallet for boarding passes, tickets, cards, etc.
- Facetime without WiFi - now you can use 3G
- Facebook integration - now share from any app
- Share Photo Streams with Friends and Family
- Advanced call handing - send to voicemail, send text reply, etc.
- Lots of under the hood changes...
